Marcia Bremer, Director of Music
Marcia has been the organist at Shalom since 1997. In May 2001, she was
named Director of Music at Shalom by the church council. Marcia has been
playing piano for 40 years and has played for church services since she was in
the eighth grade.
As Director of Music at Shalom, Marcia coordinates selection of hymns and
liturgies with the pastor for worship, she handles music for Sunday School and
Vacation Bible School, she arranges for special music during church services,
and she directs the Shalom choir which sings on special occasions. Plans are
being made to institute a children's choir in the fall, along with an adult
choir, which would meet regularly.
Marcia is employed as an Assistant Douglas County Attorney in Alexandria.
In her spare time, Marcia likes to golf, enjoys spending time with her dog and
cat, Choco and Junior, and sings with the newest Alexandria singing group,
"The Hot Dishes."
